Growing up, I craved whipped cream. When we did get it, I would eat it by the spoonful, until the tub was gone! Knowing what I know now, I wouldn’t let my kids follow in my footsteps. There are so many unhealthy additives in the store bought version. However, homemade version not only tastes better, but has far simpler ingredients. I let my kids eat this by the spoonful!

Tools Used

I like to use a Kitchen Aid or a hand held immersion blender with the whisk attachment. Most commonly, I use the latter, since my Kitchen Aid is used almost daily. I don’t want to dirty it when I have another tool to get the job done.

Ingredients and Steps for making Homemade Whipped Cream

There are only three ingredients to make this fluffy goodness happen! Heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. That’s it! Oh my, it’s so much better than the tub from the store!

First, measure out 2 cups of heavy cream into the immersion blender’s cup it came with, but a mason jar with an immersion blender would work fine too.

Then add one teaspoon of vanilla extract and three tablespoons of powdered sugar to the cup. Using the immersion blender with the whisk attachment, turn it to high speed. Whip it until it is the consistency of whipped cream!

It’s that dangerously easy friends. Besides eating it plain like my inner child cries for, it’s great on pumpkin pie, on top of waffles, coffee, you name it!

Storing

You can keep this in the refrigerator for up to three days. You may see some natural separation occur. This is normal and you can stir it together.
