Why you’ll love this einkorn taco pasta recipe

  • Quick to make and clean up. There are days that I am just so thankful for this recipe. When we are out running errands, busy with the never-ending to-do list at home, or company is unexpectedly staying for dinner – this is a regular recipe that I turn to. The prep work and clean up are so minimal!
  • Filling and satisfying. It is so hearty and filling because einkorn flour is naturally more nutrient dense. Paired with the protein it leaves you satiated longer!
  • Kid approved. Kids love this dinner. I think it is a way better version of the boxed hamburger helper version that I had as a kid. It is fun to change it up with different pasta shapes, and the toppings make it fun for kids to customize their meal. Don’t be surprised if you need to double this recipe!

Steps to make this einkorn taco pasta recipe

  1. In a medium saucepan, cook the pasta according to the box instructions.
  2. Set a large frying pan to medium high heat and begin browning the ground meat.
  3. Once the ground beef has fully cooked, add the taco seasoning and bone broth and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Once the liquid has been absorbed, add the cream cheese block to the frying pan.
  5. Turn off the frying pan. At this point, you may have some excess grease, if so, you can drain it at this time or use paper towels to absorb it out of the pan.
  6. The pasta should be done at this time as well. Turn off its heat and drain the water out of the pasta.
  7. Transfer the meat into the pot with the pasta and add the shredded cheese into the pot as well.
  8. Mix everything thoroughly until the shredded cheese has melted.
  9. It is ready to serve, or you can add the recommended toppings first before eating!

Tips

When you are cooking einkorn pasta, or any pasta – add a pinch of salt to the water and a dash of oil before dumping in the pasta. The salt helps the water to boil and the oil helps so that the noodles don’t stick together!

How long does einkorn taco pasta last?

If you have leftovers and would like to save them. Place them in an airtight container and keep them in the refrigerator. They will stay good for 3-5 days. Cooked pasta doesn’t freeze well when it is combined with other ingredients like sauces or cheese. While you can freeze it, the texture will not be as good when reheating. Therefore, I don’t recommend storing it long term in a freezer.

For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
