Be prepared for many compliments, and future requests, when you make this breakfast! This einkorn biscuits and sausage gravy is a family and friend favorite! I love this breakfast and have been making it for my family for years now. It is such a warm, inviting, and filling way to start the day.
If you are preparing the 1 batch homemade biscuits from scratch, start preparing this first and preheat your oven to 375℉. Follow the instructions in my recipe for the best einkorn biscuits!
While your biscuits are baking in the oven, brown 1 lb ground sausage over medium heat.
Drain any excess grease if necessary. I usually don't.
Pour the 60g einkorn flour in with the sausage and be sure to thoroughly coat the sausage.
Carefully pour 1000g milk into the pan with the sausage and turn up the heat to medium-high.
Being sure to scrape the bottom of the pan while mixing. Continue mixing until the milk turns into a gravy texture. This will take between 8-10 minutes.
Once the gravy has formed, add 2 tsp ground fennel seed, ½ tsp onion powder, ½ tsp pepper, and 1 tsp salt. Mix well.
Serve over the biscuits and with a side of eggs prepared the way you like!
