Equipment

  • 1 Vitamix Blender (or another high powered blender)

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs farm fresh
  • 175g maple syrup organic
  • 375g raw milk
  • 125g raw cream
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powdered
  • 1 tsp nutmeg powdered
  • ¼ tsp clove powdered
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • To make this holiday beverage, you will add 6 large eggs, 175g maple syrup, 375g raw milk, 125g raw cream, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp nutmeg, ¼ tsp clove, and 1 Tbsp vanilla extract into the Vitamix blender.
  • Hit start and during the first minute, slowly work up to the highest speed setting.
  • Allow the mixture to mix at the highest setting for two minutes. After two minutes, dial down the speed back to one.
  • With your mason jars, or other container ready, quickly pour the eggnog into your container. The spices will settle fast and you don't want to leave them all at the bottom of the Vitamix when they should be in your Christmas drink!
  • Another option is to leave it in your Vitamix container and store it that way. When you are ready to serve just blend it for a few seconds and pour into cups.
  • Set your container in the fridge overnight. This is important for the flavors to develop and the vanilla extract to absorb properly.
  • In the morning you should see three layers from the natural separation. The top will be a foamy brown, the middle a tan liquid, and the bottom a dark brown spice layer.
  • Give it a good shake and set back in the fridge until you are ready to serve. Prior to each time you serve it, I recommend shaking it well to combine the spices back into the liquid.

Notes

My favorite way to make this is to double it and store it in these half gallon containers. I use these airtight pour spouts that are perfect for storing in the fridge.
